I was lucky enough to have a tour of the memorial at Pearl Harbor once in my life and I was able to take this picture. It resonates with me because I was able to show it empty to the naked eye but, as with many veterans it isn’t empty, it’s filled with memories hopes and dreams of the ghosts of those we have lost. Over time the wounds heal but just like within us, it leaves scars. The last remaining survivor died this year at 102 years old. Every December 7th we must remember the sacrifice of these brave souls and the many that were to come once America was brought into the war. Unfortunately we will not see the end of war but we will also never see the end of bravery of our fellow man. I personally respect and honor all those that came before me and their stories.
